Read the post about Mean Girls' Daniel Franzese harassment at the hands of Bijou Phillips on the set of Bullyhere

- in an episode of her podcast Shut Up and Listen actress Heather Matarazzo (of Welcome to the Dollhouse, The Princess Diaries, and The L Word fame) told gay actor Daniel Franzese that actress Bijou Phillips strangled her just before they filmed the 2007 horror film Hostel: Part II

-
The day before they started shooting, there was a 'get to know you' party where Heather was not drinking as she had been sober for about a year.

- Heather's description of events:

"I remember the grey gloves. I remember the grey gloves. [Phillips] had thrown me up against a wall and put her hands around my neck and started choking me and choked me for a good 15, 20 seconds. And said, because she knew that I was sober based upon when we’d gotten there, we’d been offered pills by one of the producers to help us sleep, from the jet lag and the time difference. And I was like, ‘No, I don’t…. nope.’ I kept on getting offered and offered until I was like, “I’m sober, I don’t do that.” And so that night, when she had thrown me up against the wall and like, I mean I’ve experienced some horrifying moments in my life and I count that to be one of them."

- she also claims that Phillips said to her, “I’m going to make sure that you relapse on this film.” (she did not relapse)

- Heather did not tell the producers or director

- Bijou is a Scientologist and married to Danny Masterson, who has been accused of rape by four different women (ONTD post about it)

ONTD Original, so we're living dark times but let's not forget there's good people in the world. So here are some of the best 'What would you do?' clips from ABC's TV show 'What would You do?' to regain faith in humanity and lose it since this is all based in real life events. .

6. What would you do... if you see a latino dad not accepting his son's coming out?

a kid comes out to his dad, and he's not having it. People overhear the conversation and give very encouraging advice to him. One gay man even tells the story of how he overcame suicide while accepting himself.

5. What Would you do... if you saw two guys roofing a girl?

Two guys roofied a girl and one person actually calls 911, locks the bar doors and is ready to fights the fuckers.

4. What would you do...if someone harasses a parent with a different race child??

A mother is criticized for raising a black baby and people have some words for the racist woman. People get fucking angry at her. It's amazing. The grandad at the end was amazing.

3. What would you do... if people didn't approve of a trans kid shopping a dress for prom?

A supporting mom is helping his in transition male kid shop a dress for prom, yet his disapproving father storms in. People are amazing and supportive. Even from any age.

2. What Would you do... if people discriminated a latino vineyard worker?

People told a latino worker to move from a restaurant and people actually took a stand, invited the worker to sit with them and almost threw a punch to the discriminating patrons. It's touching and it even moved the actors playing the situation.

1. What would you do... if you saw a female bartender being sexually harassed by her manager?

A bartender was being inappropriately touched and harassed by her manager and people had a fit. Everyone stood up for her and told the manager what a shitfest he was (not enough tbh). The lady at the end was AH-MAH-ZING.

This week on Dragula, the girls were challenged to create an alien persona and a prop baby, then act out a birthing scene. The Boulets' brought in drag legends Heklina and Alaska Thunderfuck to guest judge (and completely wasted them but okay). The girls who performed least favorably then had to do the most gag-worthy extermination challenge yet and eat a bunch of disgusting, barely-edible franken-meats.

James Majesty didn't deserve the win but okay. Also top (should have won): Biqtch Puddin'. Safe: Victoria and Disasterina.

ONTD Original: 10 Facts About Actresses Anna May Wong and Carmen Miranda

Anna May and Carmen are known today as talented women who were firsts in international recognition, and also known as women who struggled greatly to fight against stereotypes that limited their careers.

Anna May Wong
nJESJo.jpg
“I was so young when I began that I knew I still had youth if I failed, so I determined to give myself 10 years to succeed as an actress.”

Anna May grew up in a poor area of Chinatown in Los Angeles, California. Obsessed with films, she hung around sets and begged for parts. She eventually got one and started down the path of her career. Unfortunately, Anna May was given roles of either the scheming dragon lady, slave girl, or submissive delicate flower. Her time in the industry was one long fight to be taken more seriously and not be typecast. However, she made great strides being considered the first Chinese American movie star and First Asian American actress to be recognized internationally.

1) Was nicknamed “Curious Chinese Child” by filmmakers because she was seen around sets so often
2) Her first leading role was in "The Toll of the Sea," the first technicolor film shot in Hollywood
3) Interracial romance on screen was so controversial that Anna May was never allowed to kiss white male costars
4) Even if the films she starred in tanked, she was critically praised for her acting skills
5) She became a huge star in Europe after leaving America for better roles. Funny enough, after her success overseas, an American studio selected her as a talented European actress to go BACK to America to work
6) Critics today conclude that Anna May outshined Marlene Dietrich in "Shanghai Express"
7) Once Anna May grew more confident in her skills developed in Europe, she refused to take stereotyped roles
8) MGM chose white actress Luise Rainer instead of Anna May, to play the role of a Chinese character
9) Anna started working in B-movies where she had more freedom to play a wider range of characters
10) When she went to visit China for the first time, she was disheartened when grilled by reporters on why she took such harmful roles.

Carmen Miranda
nJEyXb.jpg
“Look at me and tell me if I don’t have Brazil in every curve of my body.”

Carmen was born in Portugal and her family immigrated to Brazil when she was less than a year old. She performed as often as she could and became a sensation in America, performing on Broadway, film, and radio. Known for her fruit hat and "exotic" accent, she helped create awareness of Latin American culture. But the image Carmen crafted for her career prevented her from branching out. Because like Anna May Wong, she soon found that she was only seen as a stereotype.

1) Nicknamed the "Brazilian Bombshell"
2) She opened her own boutique and created hats
3) In 1933, she became Brazil's first radio contract singer
4) She was one of the first Latinas to have footprints outside Grauman’s Chinese Theater
5) First Brazilian performer to gain international success
6) Despite her success overseas, the media in Brazil felt Carmen perpetuated a harmful stereotype of Brazil and its people
7) At a charity concert for Brazil's First lady, Carmen was met with a cold response and booed until she left the stage in tears
8) Upper class white Brazilians criticized that Carmen's image was representative of lower class Afro-Brazilians and acted "too black"
9) After Hollywood grew tired of her, Carmen found success in nightclubs
10) Her death was mourned greatly in Brazil and a museum was constructed in her honor.

Future entertainers are able to continue to fight against stereotypical roles by using the lessons learned from Anna May and Carmen's careers.

Popstars That Only Gay People Care About

its not an insult to have mostly have mostly gay fans, its more insulting if too many str8 people like you as an artist. because what gay people are saying, if they support you is, that my exquisite taste formed by years of undelt with trauma, escapism, internalized homophobia, external homophobia, etc etc has chosen you! whereas straight people will like just any old thing, and robyn, kelis, kate bush, tori amos & andy, um idk who else the slightly older gays were into? um jennifer love hewitt? idk theyre not on this list, we already know, we're talking current, contemporary future gay icons

Sky Ferreira

ok some str8s may give a fuck abt the binch but the gays care, sky's last album came out at the falling of the berlin wall, its been 84,000 yrs.gif etc etc, where the fuck is the album bitch. um anyway we (us gays) stuck by her through her flaw fucking free pop era, what bitch has a pop ERA but like no album? icon, ONE is the pre-eminent pop song of this decade, non debatable

the bop that started it all
"One"

get the fuck into this RANKIN directed music video, soft colors, a miu miu, sofia coppola tea ugh, fashion darling!!!!

Charli XCX

you will recognize an icon when u see ha, or when u hear her bc charli wrote all your pop faves this decade, queen of songwriting, um burt bacharach of our jenneration, and i said it before and i'll say it again, THE ONLY album that is coming close to carly's pop critics darling throne this decade is charli's number 1 angle & honestl there've been some days that it's surpassed, thats right i said it, N1A is, after the tarzan soundtrack, one of the only albums i can listen through all the way & get my life tbh

the bop that started it all
"Nuclear Seasons"

um when i'm old & somebody elses kids (im not having kids, get the fuck) asks me about my youth, u know seapunk teas, uh 2012, lana, crystal castles, purity ring, grimes u know, this is the song that'll be playing in the backgroun

the bop that sustains us:
"Dreamer"
how the fuck am i supposed to pick?

Hilary Duff

ok ioeno if the gays care abt this bitch, esp after she and her man dressed up as a pilggrim & a turkey for halloween, but ok ya i might be the only gay that cares but bitch do i ever fucking care. i mean i promoted 'breathe in breathe out' more than she did, the fuck. wheres my coins lizzie? anyway BIBO is literally the 3rd best pure pop album this decade, and i still have the catch my breath that the bitch sampled the QUEEN of 80s gay pure pop belinda carlisle on the album & she sampled the song we'll hear when the apocalypse comes, 'heaven is a place on earth' like are u fucking kidding me? lalaine could never!

the bop that started it all:
"The Getaway"

lmao dont @ me but ok like "fly" & "come clean" she still belonged the masses, but when i heard "the getaway" on xanga in my hollister sub-group i knew this bitch was a fag, somebody gay wrote, produced, engineered, arranged, worked as a receptionist in the studio where this shit was recorded, somebody is GAY! that was around this song, i couldve been cheap & said dignity (& that nicole richie diss song is fucking iconic) but lets be a little inspired, girls

the bop that sustains us:
"My Kind"

um "moment of clarity" as opening lyrics to a song is fucking iconic are u kidding me? why wasnt this a hit? why wasnt this the theme for lucille roberts commercials? haylie duff is sabotaging the good bitch

Lana Del Rey

again, some str8s probably bop to my sis but they dont care & are not keeping this bitch afloat, if we (the gays) dont take ownership of what the fuck is ours, the str8s really will. look, lackluster for life was not the lana we know and love, but every pop girl will go through a bad error, its just the way it is, we love a pop redemption story & lanas a gemini .. the bitch is coming back

the bop that started it all:
"Video Games"
the fuck did u think?

the bop that sustains us:

Carly Rae Jepsen

um, i went back and forth about putting her on the list because she's beloved internationally, sells millions of albums across the globe & intergalactically, um, idk mariah carey of our generation, patti smith (hair) of our generation, like everybody knows carly, household name, hitmaker, songwriter, style icon, the lesbians tolerate her & lesbians only like tegan & sara, queen, when the race war starts im saving her & caroline rhea, the aunt from sabrina the teenage witch

ONTD Original™: 30 Kisses Between Gay & Bi Male Characters from TV

$
0
0

Bad or good, you always remember your first kiss. Sometimes they're sweet and simple. And then others are life-changing, which can be the case for many gay people. So, here's a list of thirty random kisses between gay and bisexual male characters from TV.

To keep this list a little less alabaster than it already is as well as keeping it somewhat short, obvious suspects like Will & Grace and Queer as Folk have regretfully been left out this time around so that lesser known couplings can be included.

This post's topic was partially suggested/requested by alienjive and imnotasquirrel. If anyone would like to see a similar list for women characters, say so in the comments.

(2.17)Sammy finally realizes that he likes Ollie, another dancer that is already out of the closet. Sammy pulls him aside one day and surprises him with a kiss. Unfortunately, their relationship didn't last long for several reasons.

(2.13): Grant is Max's "the one that got away." They rekindled their romance, even if it wasn't long-lasting the second time around.

(3.23): Jack McPhee had been struggling with his sexuality for almost two seasons. He was unable to reciprocate feelings for a guy, Ethan, that he really liked, though. This ultimately pushed them apart, and Ethan returned to college. Well, Jack was encouraged by Grams and his friends to finally kiss Ethan. They drove all night to reach Ethan's college, too. Much to Jack's dismay, their reunion kiss ended abruptly because Ethan had already reunited with his ex-boyfriend. Who happened to be sitting at the table, watching his boyfriend be kissed by Jack. While things didn't work out for Jack and Ethan, this whole ordeal helped mend things between Jack and his father, and it helped young McPhee better understand his identity. Jack and Ethan's kiss was a milestone as it was the first one between two men in network TV history.
(2.02): In its first season, Modern Family was criticized concerning the gay couple, Mitchell and Cameron. Not wholly because they were gay, but because they didn't kiss on screen. Other couples on the show often shared pecks, but up until the second episode of the sophomore season, Mitchell and Cameron never shared a smooch in front of the camera. Viewers finally got what they wanted, even if their kiss was just shown in the background of a scene.

(3.08): Eric got his revenge on another character by killing his enemy's lover, Talbot, after seducing him. The two served up some plentiful chin action before Eric thankfully staked Talbot, thus ending audience's collective cringing. There was really nothing sexy about the scene as the two actors had no chemistry. Later in the show, Sookie's brother Jason had a more effective erotic dream about Eric.

(1.03): This EastEnders spin-off received flack for this kiss, but not necessarily because it was between two men. The two characters, Andrew and Kieran, are in fact cousins. And it's implied that this wasn't the first time the two had crossed that forbidden line.

(1.04): Carrie's best guy friend Walt had been struggling with his denial from the start of the short-lived teen drama set in the '80s. He meets Bennet, a slightly older friend of Carrie's boss that "misreads" a moment between he and Walt. The two finally do get together once Walt turns eighteen, but their relationship has some ups and downs until then.

(3.08): Kevin and Scotty were married so they kissed a lot. Matthew Rhys often had a pained look as he smooched Luke Macfarlane, though.

(2.08): Andra Fuller played the incredibly troubled and closeted rapper Kaldrick. Despite knowing what Kaldrick did to his last boyfriend, out and proud lawyer Christopher still stayed with him. There was passion between the two, but it wasn't a healthy kind.

(3.10): The new high school playboy, Teddy, portrayed by the then 30-year old Trevor Donovan eventually came out of the closet in the third season of the reboot. His first open relationship with a man was with classmate Ian. Things seems hunky dory until Ian tricked Teddy into coming out before he was ready.

(2.11): RJ's high school nemesis Max seems like the typical alpha male, uber-hetero jock. But RJ witnesses Max kissing the gay theater kid Guillermo in the school showers. Does RJ out his bully as revenge for all the ridicule he's had to endure in the past because of Max? In real life, RJ's actor, Paul Iacono, is gay.

(1.12): A member of the Serpents, a gang in the southern part of Riverdale, named Joaquin dated Kevin to get intel from him about his father, the town's sheriff. Joaquin, though, develops feelings for Kevin in the process. Things could've worked out if not for Joaquin's pesky flaw of being an accomplice to murder. Who will either of them kiss like a vacuum now?

(2.13): David met another pansexual, Jake, toward the end of the second season of this Canadian sitcom. Things fizzled out quickly once David and his best friend, Stevie, weren't able to deal with being part of a throuple with Jake.

(2.05): Resident gay best friend Shane thinks local wrestler Duke is gay, and he's right. The two have to deal with Duke being closeted as he's an athlete on the brink of being sponsored. The two finally break up when the truth about how Duke was outed is revealed.

(10.22): This Canadian teen drama has had its fair share of gay and lesbian relationships. Notably, Marco and Paige of the first TNG class helped pave the way for more LGBTQ stories. Riley from the latter seasons was arguably one of the most troubled gay character in the show's history as his deep denial made it hard for him and totally-out Zane to ever be together. Fortunately, the show gave the two a happy ending in spite of it all.

(2.09): Zero is an enigmatic basketball player that puts on an act for the camera, and Jude is his manager. The two start to regularly hook up soon after Zero's introduction. They fall in love and become a couple by the series' end.

(4.16): Betty's nephew was in a for surprise when his friend Austin kissed him. It wasn't easy to get things going as both teenagers had personal issues, but Justin and Austin appeared to be a couple by the series finale.

(2.12): Jeff is hung up on some addict named Wyatt, but Wyatt is a mess. So if Jeff can't be with the guy he really wants, he'll take the next best thing: Landon from his campaign office. Even if it is just for one night.

(1.05): It is revealed in this British mystery mini-series that James has feelings for his friend, Rob. However, James is haunted by his past affair with the younger and now dead Cal.

(3.07): These two teens in the hit Norwegian drama have a rollercoaster type relationship, but once they get over the hurdles, they stay together.

(1.02): Patrick and Richie seem to hit things off at first, but Richie is put off by Patrick's reaction to his not-uncut penis. So for the time being, their would-be-could-be relationship is put on hold until later.

(5.13): Corey, a chimera, asks Mason out, but Mason declines. Eventually he gives in and the two start to date or something.

(2.10): When Alec finally tells Magnus he loves him, Harry Shum makes the most uncomfortable face as they smoosh lips. Ain't love grand?

(1.02): Josh begins to hook up with his friend's coworker, Geoffrey, right out of the closet. Geoffrey is comfortable with his sexuality whereas Josh is still learning to accept himself. In the end, Josh realizes that despite the obvious physical attraction, he has no romantic chemistry with Geoffrey and they part ways.

(3.04): After an exchange of hilarious pranks, Billy and Todd finally relieved that sexual tension by kissing. While they might not be great sleep companions (literally), they make a cute if not odd couple.

(2.16): What can be said about this coupling that hasn't been said by others in this community?

(4.10): In the finale, Captain Flint returned to his true love.

(Source): Brad and Lucas, or "Brucas" to their fanbase, have been a couple for several years on the long-running soap. Now, they're married.

(2.01): In this remake of the British dramedy of the same name, paramedic Hank, worried that he'll never find a man, ends up hooking up with a patient. Although Nick is a bit of a granola hipster, he and Hank have some good chemistry.

(2.08): Kenny is upset that Brett has stolen his choir solo. When Kenny's scheming causes Brett to quit, Brett finally admits that he's gay, too, and that he only joined the choir so that he could be close to Kenny. Aw?
